Remember when you were a kid, and used to skip breakfast, or just pop a doughnut or cinnamon bun on the way to school? Then about halfway through the morning you'd crash? Well, the North Carolina PTA is advocating the implementation of the Breakfast After the Bell(BAB) initiative designed by No Kid Hungry, a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world.
NCPTA has chosen creative illusions Productions to create a series of videos to get the word out. Initially, the series will focus on a very successful pilot program here in North Carolina at West Craven High School. We'll also be taping a series of 'how-to' videos, 'Nutrition Nuggets' showing young student 'chefs' preparing recipes from a School Meals Cookbook published by the North Carolina K-12 Culinary Institute. These episodes are being taped at the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education in Raleigh.
